As you perform certain tasks on your computer, such as uninstalling or installing software, Windows takes a snapshot of your computer before performing the task, just in case something goes wrong. This way, you can roll back to the snapshot state of your computer to fix any problems that occur due to the task you performed. Windows also takes a snapshot of your computer periodically, in the background. This results in a list of dates and times you can roll your computer back to, in case anything goes wrong.
